I found the perfect flight that leaves tomorrow night and gets me to Hong Kong by Monday morning but trying to find a Hong Kong-Cebu flight proved to be a major hassle, in terms of availability and airline conditions. After hours of searching and long distance phone calls, I finally found a [skeptical] way to get to Cebu from Hong Kong but the risks are way too great. That is, I might end up getting stranded in Hong Kong until mid-September. Plus if I DO decide to fly out tomorrow night (and assuming that everything else goes smoothly, which I highly doubt), I will be in Cebu for three weeks (since there aren’t any other available flights back to LA) with nothing to go “home” to. I guess this time, it’s obvious that the cons outweigh the pros. Why do airlines have to be so incompetent and confusing? [Mother Nature, what are you playing at?] I really wish I could be there to send you off into the other dimension but I guess I’ll just have to convince myself into thinking that it’s just not logical to do so. You have always been there for me and I want to slap myself for not being able to do the same for you. All I can do now is hope that everything was painless for you and and be glad that you no longer have to dream in vain of your stardust melody. She will take great care of you, I know it.
